Network Node SB-230 IP/GY:

Robust IP over Ethernet Node for field use

  SB-230 IP/GY – for tactical deployment:

Fast data connections have become indispensible – even in the military:
Centrally stored information must be available quickly and flexibly at the place of action (download), and it must be possible to send information gained in the operational area to headquarters or to a tactical unit (upload).  (see also "network-centric warfare", NCW)
SB-230 IP/GY

As is already standard in office and industrial data networks, a mobile computer (notebook, laptop, portable, etc.) connected to an Ethernet network
(IP LAN)
is used.

Other IP terminals, such as cameras or wireless access points, can also be connected to an IP network.

Once such a network has been established, the
entire voice communication can be handled via this network (voice over IP = VoIP).

The network node SB-230IP/GY offers both the necessary IP interfaces for the aforementioned data transfer (upload/download) and the VoIP functionality, provided no separate voice network needs to be operated.

The classic telecommunications interfaces (analogue, ISDN, EUROCOM) are still present in each case, which means that appropriate terminals (telephones, fax, field telephones – CB and LB) can be connected either as an alternative or as an additional terminal.

Furthermore, network access to ISDN, EUROCOM or analogue telephone networks (POTS/PSTN) by the exchange is available.

> Hence, according to requirements, traditional telecommunications networks and modern IP networks can be easily combined.
